Mike "M.I.C Gutz" Guthrie is quickly becoming the next musical talent to make his imprint. Born and raised in Toronto, Gutz is quickly showing people that he's a force to be reckoned with in the Hip Hop world. Growing up on the infamous East side Scarborough streets, Gutz has had to overcome many obstacles in order to stay focused on his god giving talent.Gutz started expressing his love for music in his early teenage years, freestyling on a mic with his friends in his basment and at local parties.While all of his friends were getting caught up in the wicked ways of the streets, Gutz stayed on top of his game and didn't fallow the norms associated with his neighborhood. He made a promise to his mom, a single mother of three, that he would finish school and stay out of trouble. Gutz experienced some bumps along the way, but was still able to accomplish his mothers wishes. Near the end of completing College in 2001, Gutz began writing music,which would catapult him to the artist he is today. His word play,concepts and flow was compared to The Notorious B.I.G, Xzibit, and Nas,which were his musical inspirations to name a few. Gutz continued to sharpen up his skills over mic by collaborating with local producers in the city. After many failed projects, Gutz decided to take control of his own destiny with the creation of his own label, BlackHole Entertainment.With the help of some old high school friends,he built his own studio,Home Advantage Studios, and learned how to audio engineer his own music projects. He began performing at venues across the city/province and shared the stage with some hip hop heavyweights such as opening for Obie Trice. In 2007, Gutz released his first solo album "No Gutz, No Glory" which received great ratings by the hip hop community. In that same year, Gutz released the mixtape "Tek Cover"in which he mixed, mastered and Executive produced the entire mixtape.In 2008 Gutz would fallow with his second album, All Gutz, No Glory and Tek Cover 2, which he once again Mixed,Mastered and Executive Produced.Gutz continues to showcase his talents performing at packed venues and constantly making albums/mixtapes all year around. He now has several artists on his label in which he engineers and executive produces for them,making him a new force to look out for in the near future of Hip Hop.
